Welcome to Grey Hawk Home Inspections, LLC. I’m Chris. Congratulations on your decision to use a CERTIFIED home inspector. Whether you are purchasing an existing home, building new, looking to sell your home, or even having a maintenance inspection done, your search for the right inspector is over – and here’s why...
I LOOK OUT FOR YOU. Your financial interests and safety concerns are my main focus. I have been in construction my whole life and know the correct way buildings and components are assembled and how individual systems interact with each other. This is known as Building Science. This is why I won’t bring in individual specialists to look only at their trade. They miss how they affect others. Again, this is how I LOOK OUT FOR YOU. We’ll only bring in a specialist if we need their opinion or proposal. In your search, I’m sure you found that all inspectors use many forms of software and have nice pictures. Yes, we all do that. Here’s really what to look for in choosing the right inspector for you and why I am the best choice for your inspection needs:
Use a Licensed / Certified inspector – I am a licensed Florida home inspector #HI10374 and certified by InterNACHI, the largest home inspector association. Please take a look at my qualifications page for further information.
Look for an experienced inspector – I have over 35 years in construction ranging from design, field work, management, problem solver, and inspection. This work includes the major trades of Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, Controls, Fire Protection, Alarms and how they all relate to the entire structure. This is known as Building Science, the main ingredient for a great home inspector.
Use of the latest technology – I am certified in Thermal Imaging and I have used the infrared camera technology for many years in the commercial industry. Now that the price of the cameras is more affordable, some inspectors are beginning to use them. Be careful if they say they can see thru walls – they don’t understand the technology.
Find an inspector who will take time with you – The larger companies have more inspectors and many will schedule two or more inspections a day for them. Ever get rushed thru a doctor’s office because he was running late? I will never do that to my clients. I only schedule one inspection a day and I’m finished when you’re satisfied and have no more questions.
Price, of course - We all want the best for the lowest price, but don’t cut corners when it comes down to the largest investment you’ll ever make. I believe you’ll find my cost to benefit a good value for you – especially when you see how well I LOOK OUT FOR YOU.
